 New Town, also known as Rajarhat is a rapidly developing planned city on the eastern edge of Kolkata. The master plan for New Town provides for large number of open spaces and parks across the city ranging from small neighbourhood parks to large city and regional level green spaces.
The proposed Eco-Park in Action Area II of New Town will be one of the largest open spaces in the city. The site is spread across an area of 194 hectares (480 acres)and includes a 42-hectare (200 Acres) water body withan island. The upcoming Central Business District (CBD) is located to the east of the site and one of the largest convention centres in the country isbeing built to its north. |
