| The Appalachian Basin's natural gas production exceeding 35 Bcf/d has played a pivotal role in propelling the U.S. into the world's leading natural gas supplier. The total U.S. production now stands at over 100 Bcf/d, with approximately 20 Bcf/d being exported to allies overseas.
Looking to the future, the basin's potential output, if unstranded, could reach an impressive 60 Bcf/d. This potential further assures the U.S. and its allies that more CH4 is at the ready to displace unfriendly sources of supply and further meet global lower-carbon goals.
