| The SPE Aberdeen Section (SPE Aberdeen) and Aberdeen Renewable Energy Group (AREG) proudly bring you the first Scottish Energy Futures Conference - focused on deploying the technologies necessary to make the energy transition happen.
We recognise that energy transition is a journey over many years - today we need to decarbonise oil and gas production as it still supplies over 80% of global energy needs - but the pace of development of a wide range of technologies means that tomorrows energy systems will look very different. Recognising the urgency of the need to tackle climate change this conference looks at a range of decarbonisation projects that are happening now - and looks to the future to see what technologies might finally deliver the goal of "net zero".
