32nd Conference on Severe Local Storms Dates: TBD Venue: TBD, TBD, United States
Please note ! All dates are subject to changes.
The Conference on Severe Local Storms is the premiere gathering for scientists, forecasters, educators, and communicators engaged in all aspects of work related to hazardous deep convective weather phenomena. Our goal is to provide a platform to present and facilitate discussion of cutting-edge research regarding the analysis, prediction, communication, and theoretical understanding of the structure and dynamics of severe thunderstorms, including their associated hazards of tornadoes, damaging winds, large hail, lightning, and flash floods.
The theme for the Conference on Severe Local Storms is Supporting the Next Generation of Observations, Theory, and Practice. We invite presentations on studies ranging from physical understanding of severe convective storms and their processes and hazards, to forecasting and nowcasting severe storm events, to how we educate, train, and communicate information about severe local storms to the next generation of scientists and the public. We especially encourage presentations focusing on convective storms in the Eastern United States, communication of severe weather concepts in the classroom and beyond, and how we can leverage increasingly large sets of observations and model data to produce novel insights into the processes of severe storms now and in the future. Please join us and advance the science of severe local storms! Website: https://www.ametsoc.org/ |
